How to Play France Royal

France Royal is a real-time strategy game where two players deploy cards, manage elixir and try to defeat the opposing side.

Build your deck

Your deck determines which cards are available during a match. A good deck combines offensive, defensive and support options instead of relying on a single powerful card.

Each card has its own elixir cost, health, damage, attack speed, movement speed and possible special ability.

Manage your elixir

Every card costs elixir. Spending all of your elixir at once can create a strong attack, but it can also leave you unable to defend.

Waiting for your opponent to make the first move can sometimes allow you to defend for less elixir and use the remaining resources for a counterattack.

Choose your placement

Where you deploy a unit matters. Defensive placement can give your towers more time to help, while aggressive placement can put immediate pressure on the opponent.

Understand special abilities

Some cards can heal allies, protect nearby units, slow enemies, stun targets, charge toward structures, deal area damage or provide other tactical effects.

Learning how these abilities interact is an important part of mastering France Royal.

Defend and counterattack

Units that survive a defensive fight continue moving forward. Supporting those surviving units can turn a successful defense into a strong counterattack.

Watch your opponent

Pay attention to the cards your opponent has already used. Understanding their deck makes it easier to predict their possible responses and decide when to attack.

Balance updates

France Royal is regularly adjusted based on gameplay and player feedback. Card statistics and abilities may change to keep different strategies viable and avoid one card becoming the best solution in every situation.

Beginner tip: focus first on defending efficiently and managing elixir. Knowing when not to play a card is just as important as knowing when to deploy one.
